February 17, 2021

As Council's representative on both Calgary Economic Development and the $100M Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund (OCIF), I am very proud of the work that the OCIF team has delivered. The Q4 2020 Report is out now!

OCIF's key highlights and commitments include:

  • 14 companies awarded OCIF funding (11 local and 3 new entrants across sectors)
  • 15:1 of leveraged investments with $42 million of OCIF funds committed, which spurred $636 million of investment in the community
  • 1900 Calgary-based jobs created
  • 1800+ newly trained tech talent
  • 440,000 sq feet of office/industrial space absorbed
  • 190 new companies started through incubators/accelerators, which will have follow on effect and increase the number of jobs and office space absorption and is not accounted in the reported OCIF metrics
